Brush & Chisel Art Tour
In the middle of the nineteenth century, Medellín began to experience changes in its cultural behavior and in the way it saw the world. The peasant imaginary was forgotten and a process of modernization of artistic practices began that would help provide a symbology with which the city would begin to build its own identity. The city and its inhabitants broke away from the backwardness left by the Spaniards, and from that moment on, they began to invest in a unique urban aesthetic.
We’ll start our tour of ubano art and brushes by touring the city center, where you’ll get to know the most iconic works of Fernando Botero, one of Colombia’s most renowned artists. Next, we’ll delve into Medellín’s most popular neighborhoods to enjoy the city’s most impressive and colorful street art and graffiti.
During the tour, we’ll tell you the history and meaning of each artwork, and you’ll meet the artists behind them. In addition, you will be able to take unique and fun photos of the most emblematic murals and graffiti.
